Skill Fest 2025 to take place at Embark College on Jan 10

KATHMANDU: Glocal After School, an entity of Glocal, on Monday launched the sixth edition of Skill Week — a week-long celebration aimed at equipping young people and students with essential 21st-century skills.

This event focuses on bridging the gap between academia and industry while promoting employability through workshops, competitions, and networking opportunities.

Skill Week 2025 centres on four key pillars: Science and Technology, Art and Culture, Tourism and Hospitality, and Entrepreneurship. This year, it adopts the themes of Green Economy, Sustainable Ecosystem, and International Connectivity, ensuring an immersive experience for participants.

The Skill Fest will be held at Embark College, Pulchowk, Lalitpur, on January 10, 2025. Open to young people, this free platform will offer interactive opportunities to explore, test, and develop skills. Participants can expect skill-focused stalls, job opportunities, and engaging activities.

From workshops by renowned organisations to roundtable discussions on Industry-Academia Interaction on January 12, Skill Week 2025 will offer a diverse lineup of events, including workshops, exhibitions and displays, competitions, Skill Fest and Entertainment, and a Job Fair.

The CEO Unplugged forum on January 13, 2025, will bring together entrepreneurs, business leaders, and students for panel discussions on contemporary business challenges and future possibilities under the theme 'Today Meets Tomorrow'.

The closing ceremony on January 13, 2025, will feature the Skill Hero Awards, recognising individuals who have made extraordinary contributions in Art and Culture, Tourism and Hospitality, Science and Technology, and Entrepreneurship.

Skill Week is supported by Embark College, CNI, Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), European Union (EU), Embassy of India, Australian Embassy, Honda, Coca-Cola, WWF, CG Motors, UNDP, UK Skills Partnership, The Soaltee Kathmandu, Worldlink, Yeti Airlines, and NNQ.
