KATHMANDU: Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) delegation, led by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Dilip Subba, met with Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal on Tuesday to discuss scientific collaboration for industrial development.
NAST proposed a partnership with FNCCI on various research and development initiatives, including fellowships, scholarships, and grants. The proposal emphasises financial support from the industrial sector for innovation fellowships, research for young scientists, postgraduate grants, and scholarly fellowships.
FNCCI President Dhakal welcomed the collaboration, noting the importance of establishing a research and development ecosystem and an innovation ecosystem centre. He expressed positivity about the collaboration, suggesting that further study could lead to concrete actions.
NAST Vice Chancellor Subba highlighted the potential benefits of the collaboration, stating that a combined effort could significantly contribute to the country's industrial development through the expertise of domestic and international scientists.
