GORKHA: More than 10,000 foreign tourists visited Manaslu area in Gorkha district in 2024.
Bhuwan Raj Ojha, Conservation Officer at Manaslu Conservation Area Project Office, reported that a total of 10,605 foreign tourists visited the region over the year.
This figure represents an increase of 1,428 tourists compared to the previous year, which saw 9,177 visitors.
Ojha said that majority of tourists last year were from countries outside the SAARC region. The highest number of visitors came from France, with a total of 1,335 tourists.
Additionally, 1,881 tourists from Germany, 796 from the USA, and 159 from India visited Manaslu area. Tourists from the Netherlands, the UK, Australia, Spain, China, and other countries also frequented the area, according to Ojha.
In Manaslu area, visitors can enjoy the natural beauty, including Kulchhuman (Kal) Lake, Manaslu Peak, Birendra Lake, Shringi Mountain, and Rajen Monastery.
