BAGLUNG: Farmers in Khatekhola Rural Municipality-6, Baglung district, have produced oranges valued at Rs 54 million this year. This marks a substantial increase of Rs 20 million compared to the previous year's yield.

Agni Kandel, Agricultural Technician at Khatekhola Rural Municipality, reported that last year, the farmers produced oranges worth Rs 35 million. This year, the farmers in Ward No. 6 cultivated oranges on 30 hectares of land, yielding nearly 900 metric tonnes.

Kandel attributed the higher production to the absence of disease in orange plants and technical support provided by the rural municipality. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to expand orange farming in the area.

Local farmer Loknath Kandel said the production of oranges is on the rise in his village, adding that garden management was crucial for increased production.

The farmers reported no issues with marketing their produce, as buyers visit the gardens directly to purchase the oranges.
