WASHINGTON: Google has announced a pioneering partnership with the Associated Press (AP) to deliver instant news updates via its AI-powered chatbot, Gemini.
In an official statement, Google described this collaboration as the first of its kind between the tech giant and a news organisation to provide real-time content using artificial intelligence.
The partnership will enable Gemini to receive live updates from AP, enhancing the accuracy of search results. While Google confirmed that these updates will be integrated into Gemini soon, the bot currently indicates the unavailability of real-time news updates.
Kristin Heitmann, AP's Chief Revenue Officer, stated that the partnership aims to deliver timely and accurate news and information to a global audience.
This development comes amid criticism of AI chatbots like Gemini for their lack of access to reliable news sources.
