KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 0.26%, or 6.78 points, to close at 2,607.99 points after trading today.
A total of 13,677,983 shares from 311 companies were traded, amounting to Rs 6,570,477,886.37 through 74,403 transactions, bringing the market capitalisation to Rs 4,325,878,588,030.
In today's trading, Banking Subindex decreased by 0.20%, Development Bank Index by 0.60%, Finance Index by 2.54%, Hydropower Index by 0.02%, and Microfinance Index by 0.04%. All other subindices increased. The Hotels and Tourism Index increased by 0.12%, Investment Index by 0.60%, Life Insurance by 0.04%, Manufacturing and Processing by 1.68%, Mutual Fund by 0.09%, Non-Life Insurance by 0.23%, Trading Index by 1.06%, and Others Index by 2.13%.
Today, the highest increase in share price was posted by Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (MLBS), which rose 9.05%. The share prices of Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (WNLB) and Super Madi Hydropower (SMHL) both declined by 10%.
In terms of turnover, the highest share value traded was from River Falls Power (RFPL), totalling Rs 240,188,404.40. Based on the number of shares traded, the highest volume was 377,646 shares of Himalayan Power Partner (HPPL).
