KATHMANDU: Toastmasters District 41 successfully concluded its mid-year District Leaders Training Programme (DLTP) in Kathmandu on January 11 and 12. The event brought together district officers and associates from Nepal and India to refine leadership skills, foster teamwork, and uphold Toastmasters' mission of empowering individuals through communication and leadership excellence.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome from Moon Pradhan, Division Director of District 41, who emphasised collaboration and innovation in achieving shared goals. An inspiring session by Nimish Joseph encouraged participants to embrace resilience and growth.

Throughout the programme, teamwork emerged as a central theme, with Ranjit Acharya delivering a session on empowering teams for collective success, and an interactive workshop on Contest Management by Sandeep Ratouri and Anant Katyani highlighting the roles and responsibilities in orchestrating successful contests.

Shwetank Sharma and Gaurav Chaudhary introduced the District 41 Dashboard, providing data-driven insights on setting and tracking goals to help clubs achieve the Distinguished Club badge. Strategies for supporting underperforming clubs, mentoring, and sustainable succession planning were also explored.

The training delved deeper into leadership dynamics, with sessions on team building and conflict resolution by Sandeep Raturi illustrating how effective communication and mutual respect can transform challenges into growth opportunities. Vinay Jain further inspired leaders to prioritise purpose-driven success, viewing challenges as opportunities for impactful change.

Innovative approaches to organisational growth were explored by Nimit Mittal and Raju Chauhan, who introduced strategies to align Toastmasters programmes with corporate appraisal systems and leverage media platforms to celebrate milestones, enhancing visibility and membership.

Anant Katyani redefined leadership as an act of service, drawing on John C Maxwell’s philosophy: "Know the way, go the way, and show the way." Ranjit Acharya's session on resilience and continuous improvement emphasised incremental progress over perfection, rooted in the concept of atomic habits.
