KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) is set to organise the eighth edition of the Chamber Expo at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, from January 30 to February 3.
The Nepal Chamber Expo 2025 will feature an international-level Software and AI Project, according to the NCC. The expo aims to promote and market local products and boost trade, said NCC President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal. The NCC is organising this international trade fair in collaboration with the Trade and Export Promotion Centre (TEPC) under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies (MoICS).
Agrawal stated that the main objective is to integrate business sectors, with a special emphasis on marketing Nepali products. He noted that, alongside the development of IT, the Software and AI Project stall is the most significant attraction of the Chamber Expo 2025.
NCC Immediate Past President Rajendra Malla highlighted the need to develop Nepal's IT industries as a backup for international IT companies. TEPC Executive Director Sarad Bickram Rana emphasised that the selection of software consumed within the country should be based on domestic production and competitiveness.
Rastra Bhusan Chakubaji, Chairman of the NCC’s Fair Committee, informed that the direct participation of the regional and international business community will help closely monitor economic activities, the use of technology, and new dimensions of business management occurring in the international arena.
NCC's IT, Software and Technology Committee Chair Bigyan Shrestha said that IT products have been given high priority this year.
As in previous years, the expo will showcase agricultural products, handicrafts, textiles, automobiles, electronics, home appliances, logistics, furniture, garments, leather goods, jewellery, cosmetics, food, and dairy products. The expo is expected to become a significant attraction for visitors, featuring exhibitors and businesspeople from countries such as Nepal, India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, South Korea, Thailand, and the UAE.
Over 125 domestic and international stalls will be set up at the expo. The five-day event is expected to attract at least 50,000 visitors, said NCC’s Fair Committee Chair Chakubaji. The Chamber Expo's partners include DHC as the beauty partner, Prabhu Insurance as the insurance partner, World Link as the internet partner, and Softwarica College of IT and E-Commerce, and Sunway College Kathmandu as the education partners.
The expo will also feature an auto pavilion, local food stalls, and a play zone for children, according to Introduction Trade Shows Nepal, which is managing the event.
