KATHMANDU: Ncell has supported the WT20I Triangular Series, reinforcing its commitment to youth and sports. In collaboration with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), Ncell is empowering the series for women’s cricket, nurturing female cricket talent and engaging Nepali fans.

This partnership aligns with Ncell's theme 'Here for You' and underscores its dedication to promoting sports and cricket, one of the nation's most beloved activities.

The women's T20I series began on Thursday at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. CAN has ensured free entry for all matches, encouraging widespread support for the Nepali women's cricket team throughout the series.

In this series, participating teams compete against each other three times. In the opening match, the host team Nepal faced the Netherlands. Nepal will also play against Thailand on February 1, the Netherlands on February 2, Thailand on February 4, the Netherlands on February 5, and Thailand again on February 7.

The Nepali team, led by captain Indu Barma, includes former captain Rubina Chhetri, Sita Rana Magar, Puja Mahato, Alisha Kumari Yadav, Bindu Rawal, Samjhana Khadka, Kabita Kunwar, Mamta Chaudhary, Kabita Joshi, Rewati Dhami, Roma Thapa, Rajmati Airee, Manisha Upadhyaya, and Ishwari Bista.

Ncell's philosophy of keeping Nepal and its consumers connected resonates with the passion for cricket. This collaboration represents more than just support for the sport; it embodies connectivity with sports and Nepal.

Ncell has stated that this partnership embodies the spirit of growth, innovation, and mutual dedication to excellence. The company looks forward to achieving new heights together, contributing to sports development, youth empowerment, and social unity.

As a responsible corporate citizen, Ncell has significantly contributed to sports development and talent nurturing in Nepal since its inception. For instance, Ncell was a ‘Powered by’ partner of the Nepal Premier League 2024. The company has supported cricket, football, volleyball, golf, and para-athletes in various national and international events. Ncell also backed the 5th Tiger Cup, the 'Triangular T20I Series 2024,' ICC League 2, and the Nepal-Canada ODI Series. Additionally, Ncell has supported various football events, including the Birgunj Gold Cup and Jhapa Gold Cup.

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), through the Ncell Foundation, Ncell has collaborated with the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Nepal, to support the national para-athlete team.

In September, following Para Taekwondo player Palesha Goverdhan’s historic win at the Paris Paralympics 2024, the Ncell Foundation rewarded her with Rs 1 million. Other Paralympics team members also received cash prizes.
