Skill Lab Asia hosts inaugural 'Unleashing Asia Summit'

KATHMANDU: Skill Lab Asia held the inaugural Unleashing Asia Summit in Lalitpur, on Friday, successfully sparking dialogues on industry-academia collaboration. 

The event attracted over 57 industry leaders, representatives from more than 110 academic institutions, participants from 14 cities across the six provinces, delegates from 15 local governments, 20 development partners, and eight international representatives from Asia-level career centre networks.

The summit, which had more than 300 attendees, featured a blend of keynote speeches and panel discussions. It explored the multifaceted dimensions of education and industry. A notable takeaway was the emphasis on collaboration between educational institutions and industry leaders to enhance employability outcomes.

Numerous panellists and keynote speakers underscored the significance of teachers as pivotal resources in building student capacity, advocating for investment in teacher development and empowerment.

During the summit, Skill Lab Asia and career centre networks in Malaysia and Indonesia signed two strategic memoranda of understanding, marking a significant step forward in formalising knowledge-sharing initiatives.
