KATHMANDU: The Ila Comfort Hotel in Baglung Bazaar has officially commenced operations, offering premium facilities to tourists and visitors exploring the tourist destinations in Gandaki Province.
Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, inaugurated the hotel during a ceremony in Baglung on Saturday. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Minister Pandey highlighted that the IME Group's investment in tourism infrastructure has significantly strengthened Nepal's tourism industry, emphasising the nation's economic reliance on tourism and the government's commitment to promoting it.
Gandaki Province's Health Minister, Krishna Prasad Pathak, called for further investment in the region's tourism infrastructure. He commended IME Group Chairman, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, for his contributions to tourism infrastructure development and encouraged additional investment in the province.
IME Group Chairman and President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, expressed confidence that the new hotel would substantially contribute to tourism development in Baglung. He committed to investing in tourism infrastructure to address the needs of Nepalis forced to emigrate due to insufficient investment and employment opportunities.
The IME Group Chairman asserted that investment in the tourism and hydropower sectors would benefit the economy and enhance citizens' living standards. He said that the hotel would provide high-quality services to tourists, contributing to the tourism, economic, and cultural development of Baglung and the Kaligandaki region, and increasing the influx of Indian and Chinese tourists.
On the occasion, federal lawmakers Deepak Giri and Jeevan Pariyar, Baglung Municipality Mayor Basant Shrestha, and Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Naresh Kadel, called for increased investment, recognising the hotel's contributions to the region's tourism infrastructure.
Constructed with an investment of approximately Rs 300 million, the Ila Comfort Hotel is expected to set a new benchmark for quality accommodation in Baglung. The hotel spans four ropanis of land and features 30 elegantly designed rooms, including 27 guestrooms, two suites, and an exclusive penthouse.
