KATHMANDU: The CAN Info-Tech 2025, organised by the Federation of Computer Associations Nepal (CAN Federation) at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, is more than just a technology exhibition; it has become an important platform for business expansion. Companies from Nepal and abroad are showcasing their latest technologies and services at the country's largest Information Technology (IT) exhibition.

According to the organisers, CAN Info-Tech unites customers, businesses, and service providers, creating opportunities for the promotion and market expansion of technologies. Brands and companies are directly interacting with consumers through their stalls, providing information about their products and services. There are a total of 155 stalls at the exhibition.

The 30th edition of CAN Info-Tech has seen a significant presence of startup companies active in the IT sector. Cybersecurity, agricultural technology, hospitality, banking solutions, and other state-of-the-art technological solutions have particularly attracted visitors. CAN Federation General Secretary Chandra Bilas Bhurtel mentioned that CAN Info-Tech assists startup companies in establishing their latest technologies and solutions in the market by facilitating direct contact with potential investors, partners, and customers.

Additionally, Bhurtel mentioned that the event has created a favourable environment for exploring cooperation opportunities among IT companies, internet service providers, and software and hardware manufacturers.

The general public, interested in observing and purchasing technologies, substantially participated, making the exhibition venue a popular destination for technology enthusiasts, on Saturday.

Companies participating in CAN Info-Tech have offered special discounts and promotional offers on their products and services. Sponsors have announced attractive schemes for consumers alongside exhibitions of their products.

This year, CAN Info-Tech has also had considerable participation from IT and engineering colleges. Some colleges have displayed innovative products created by their students, including an advanced AI-powered virtual and robotic tutor developed by students, which has attracted many technology enthusiasts.

Government and non-government organisations are also present at the exhibition at CAN Info-Tech. Nepal Police is conducting digital service and cybersecurity awareness programmes. The Department of National ID and Civil Registration is conducting the National ID registration (live enrolment) process, in which citizens are participating. Additionally, Aaviyanta Foundation is offering free health check-up services, including dental, diabetic, and eye check-ups.
