Image Saving and Credit Co-operative refunds Rs 10m to depositors in Baglung

BALEWA, BAGLUNG: Image Saving and Credit Co-operative has refunded Rs 10 million as 547 depositors from its Dhorpatan and Galkot service centres reached a settlement with chairperson Dev Kumar Nepali at the District Court, Baglung. Following the settlement, refunds of up to Rs 100,000 per depositor have started.

A total of 92 depositors in Dhorpatan have received cheques worth Rs 3.7 million, while 147 depositors in Galkot Municipality have also received refunds, according to Manju Sharma Chalise, coordinator of Image Victim Struggle Committee, Galkot.

Chalise stated that the process has been initiated so that depositors with up to Rs 100,000 in Galkot and Dhorpatan will receive their refunds promptly.

The cooperative's depositors have confirmed that they received the amounts they were entitled to.

Chairperson of the cooperative, Nepali, is currently in custody awaiting trial.
