KATHMANDU: Siddhartha Hospitality has launched the 'Food Against Cancer' campaign.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Siddhartha Business Group of Hospitality (SBGH), Krishna Neupane, announced the campaign's launch on World Cancer Day, on February 4.
“To ensure the success of the 'Food Against Cancer' campaign, various promotional programmes have been planned. These include nutritious food, workshops and podcasts with cancer experts, community engagement, partnerships with health experts, training for employees, and awareness campaigns through social media,” said CEO Neupane.
According to Siddhartha Hospitality, a 'special healthy menu' will be prepared to raise awareness about fighting cancer through food. Fresh fruits, green vegetables, grains, omega-3 rich foods, and anti-inflammatory spices will be promoted as foods against cancer.
During the campaign, chefs will provide direct information on how to cook healthy meals. Additionally, information cards about nutritious food will be placed on dining tables in hotels and restaurants under Siddhartha Hospitality.
Moreover, workshops and podcast interviews with cancer experts will be conducted. These will provide information and discussions on planned diets, identifying unhealthy foods, and and eating correctly. The company states that participants will have the opportunity for interactive discussions with experts.
Community engagement will also be prioritised to raise awareness against cancer. Participants in the campaign can share their favourite recipes under the title 'Cook to Combat Cancer.' The best recipes will be included in Siddhartha Hospitality's menu and promoted through social media.
Likewise, a healthy food festival will also be organised under this campaign. The festival will feature stalls of foods that help combat cancer including smoothie bar and salad counter.
As part of the campaign, the company will promote a healthy menu through collaboration with health experts and partnerships with local organic farmers to ensure sustainability and health promotion.
Siddhartha Hospitality states that during the campaign, chefs and staff working in the hospitality sector will be provided with information to encourage customers to consume foods that help fight cancer.
To ensure the campaign's success, beneficial dishes and recipes for cancer patients will be promoted and publicised through social media. Consumers will be informed through videos, infographics, and recipes. The main attractions and important topics of the campaign and experts will be promoted.
To promote the campaign, Siddhartha Hospitality will also offer special discounts on various menus.
