
KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs, Ramesh Lekhak, has emphasised the necessity of dialogue to resolve the ongoing dispute over Pathibhara cable car project.
In a meeting held on Monday evening at his ministry, Minister Lekhak urged all concerned parties to adopt a more serious approach to resolving their differences and progressing development works.
This discussion followed an unsuccessful negotiation between the government and the agitating side's talk teams on Sunday.
CPN UML leader Yogesh Bhattarai and leaders of the indigenous community also attended the meeting.
According to Home Ministry Spokesperson, Ramchandra Tiwari, Minister Lekhak reiterated the need for dialogue and consensus during the meeting. The agitating side demanded the formation of a high-level talks team to address the issue.
Minister Lekhak emphasised the importance of peaceful measures to seek a solution.
Meanwhile, the controversy surrounding the cable car project to the famous pilgrim site, Pathibhara in Taplejung district, continues to grow.
