President inquires about health of injured DPM Paudel, Pokhara Mayor Acharya

KIRTIPUR: President Ramchandra Paudel has inquired about the health condition of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, and Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, who are receiving treatment at the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur.

Minister Paudel and Mayor Acharya sustained injuries while flying balloons during an inauguration programme organised to promote tourism in Pokhara on Saturday. Both of them have been receiving treatment at the intensive care unit at the Burn Hospital since Saturday noon.

Health Minister Pradip Paudel, Health Secretary Dr Roshan Pokharel, and the Director of the Hospital, Dr Kiran Kishor Nakarmi, along with the doctors involved in their treatment, briefed the President on the conditions of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Mayor.

Dr Nakarmi reported that although the conditions of Minister Paudel and Mayor Acharya are stabilising, they should remain under medical supervision for some time. He further emphasised the need for the hospital to be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology for the treatment of burns.
