KATHMANDU: National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal has called for an investigation into the death of Prakriti Lamsal, a student from Butwal studying at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Odisha, India.

Speaking at today's National Assembly meeting, Chairperson Dahal emphasised the serious attention drawn by Lamsal's mysterious death and urged the government to initiate diplomatic efforts immediately to investigate the case and ensure justice. He also requested that the government create a favourable environment for other Nepali students at KIIT.

During the emergency hour of the meeting, lawmakers demanded a thorough investigation into Lamsal's case. He also urged the Government of Nepal to take diplomatic action to rescue stranded Nepali students.

Similarly, Krishna Bahadur Rokaya condemned the oppression faced by other Nepali students who raised their voices regarding Lamsal's death. Meanwhile, upper house lawmakers have expressed their objection to the increasing cases of physical assault and mistreatment of civil servants by local representatives.
