KATHMANDU: Policy Research Institute (PRI) and Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on policies and research-related areas.

The MoU was signed on Thursday by Prof Dr Lekhnath Sharma, Executive Chairperson of PRI, and Ghanashyam Ojha, Director General of CNI, formalising the partnership between the two institutions on policy and industrial matters.

PRI, a government think tank, is dedicated to reviewing public policies, programmes, and strategies through research and analysis, providing policy recommendations to the government.

CNI Director General Ojha stated that the MoU aims to establish a connection between the industrial community and academia, ensure collaboration on policies and industrial matters, conduct joint research, generate data, and work on capacity building. The MoU between PRI and CNI is expected to create a synergy effect in the country's economy through enhanced coordination in policy drafting.
