KATHMANDU: Bookworm Foundation is set to host the Ncell Foundation 'Nepal Literature Festival 2025' in Pokhara Metropolitan City from February 27 to March 2.
Organisers are working to make the 12th edition of the festival more special and exciting, hoping that everyone will support this ‘fair’ of literature as in previous editions.
This year, the festival will be held at Barahighat, Lakeside, where literature lovers from home and abroad will gather. Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, will inaugurate the festival.
The event will feature over 200 writers, politicians, artists, journalists, editors, and distinguished personalities from different countries. There will also be more than 50 panel sessions, interactive programmes, musical performances, and other creative events, according to the organisers.
The festival will begin with a scholarly discourse by professor and economist Mahendra P Lama.
The festival will cover various topics related to literature, including social, political, economic, new technology, and cinema, with organisers expecting thousands of literary enthusiasts to participate daily.
Paintings by traditional Paubha artist Lok Chitrakar will be on display.
Among the musical programmes, there will be a group performance led by Kiran Nepali under the project Sarangi. Similarly, Om Bikram Bista, known as the pop king of the Nepali music world, will also make the festival resonate.
