KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok, Thailand, has advised all foreign job seekers to obtain a labour permit from the government before leaving the country for employment.
The Embassy reported that the rescue of Nepalis stranded in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand has been hampered by the absence of labour permits among those involved in various jobs.
Recently, the Nepali Embassy in Thailand successfully rescued several Nepalis who had been coerced into working in online scams. They were repatriated to Nepal on Monday.
These individuals were freed from Myawaddy, a town in Myanmar's southeastern region.
The Nepali mission has reiterated its request for all individuals seeking foreign employment to avoid being enticed by promises of high incomes and to ensure they carry verified documentation, including a work permit.
