6.1 ML earthquake jolts Sindhupalchok; tremors felt in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: An earthquake of local magnitude 6.1 struck with its epicentre near Bhairabkunda in Sindhupalchok district this morning, according to National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre (NEMRC).

The NEMRC confirmed that the earthquake occurred at 2:51 am, and its tremors were felt in Kathmandu and the surrounding districts.

Additionally, the earthquake was experienced in the eastern and southern districts of Nepal.
