PM Oli stresses private sector's role in employment creation

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has acknowledged the significant contribution of private sector in creating employment opportunities within Nepal.

Speaking at the inauguration of the National Labour and Employment Conference, 2081, PM Oli highlighted the increasing importance of private sector as the government remains committed to fostering entrepreneurship to drive change and advance the national aspiration of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali. '

PM Oli mentioned that while many Nepalis work abroad, the country's economy will not grow unless employment opportunities are created within the country. He stressed the need to enhance production and productivity through the utilisation of science and technology. He also emphasised the importance of developing skilled manpower capable of competing in the global market and creating as many jobs as possible within the country.

During the event, the National Skill Development Institute and employment provider companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Additionally, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security and the Swiss Agency signed an MoU to expand the Integrated Labour Market Information System under the Prime Minister Employment Programme.
