Chinese photographers arrive in Nepal to promote tourism

KATHMANDU: A 100-member team of Chinese photographers has arrived in Nepal to showcase its culture, heritage and tourism.

The team arrived in Nepal on Monday as part of the 'Lens on Nepal 100 Chinese Photographers' programme, jointly organised by the Nepal China Friendship Forum, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), and National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ).

Welcoming the team, Lawmaker Urmila Majhi and NTB Manager Surya Thapaliya stated that the arrival of Chinese photographers is an important achievement for promoting tourism in Nepal.

On the occasion, the musical group Sukarma gave a welcome performance.

The visit of the Chinese photographers has been organised to mark Visit Nepal Year 2025 and the 70th anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic relations.

Forum Coordinator Kalyan Raj Sharma said, "The event will be an important opportunity to promote tourism in Nepal."

The Chinese photographers will visit various tourist, cultural, and historical sites in Nepal and promote its natural beauty and cultural heritage worldwide through their photographs.

The visit is expected to strengthen Nepal-China relations and elevate Nepal's tourism to new heights.
