KATHMANDU: The administration offices of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts in Kathmandu Valley have appealed for a dignified and peaceful celebration of the Holi festival.
Anil Poudel, Assistant Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, has called on the public to observe the festival responsibly. In a statement, he referenced the Social Behaviour (Reform) Act and Regulations, 2033 BS, which govern religious, social, and cultural festivals. He advised against public disturbances, excessive alcohol consumption, and acts that compromise social harmony and dignity.
The notice further cautioned against throwing colours, using water-filled balloons, sprinkling water from pipes, or applying colours without consent, as such actions could result in accidents or fatalities.
Holi will be celebrated in the Hilly region on March 13, followed by the Tarai region on March 14.
