
KATHMANDU: The government has collected Rs 4.12 billion in revenue from the real estate business over the past month, Falgun (February 13 to March 13).
According to the Department of Land Management and Archive, real estate transactions in Falgun surpassed those recorded in the preceding month, Magh (January 14 to February 12).
With the real estate market gradually stabilising, revenue collection has seen an upward trend. During this period, Rs 288 million was raised through service tax, Rs 2.20 billion through registration fees, and Rs 1.57 billion via capital gains tax.
Month-wise revenue figures for the current fiscal year 2024/25 indicate collections of Rs 3.83 billion in Shrawan (July 16 to August 16), Rs 3.9 billion in Bhadra (August 17 to September 16), Rs 3.8 billion in Asoj (September 17 to October 16), Rs 2.70 billion in Kartik (October 17 to November 15), Rs 3.87 billion in Mangsir (November 16 to December 15), Rs 4.25 billion in Poush (December 16 to January 13), and Rs 3.87 billion in Magh (January 14 to February 12).
The Land Revenue Office, Lagankhel, in Lalitpur district collected Rs 380.2 million in revenue in Falgun alone, according to the Department.
