KATHMANDU: Nepal is set to make history in the global technology sector with 'Tech Peak Nepal: Orlando 2025,' the country’s first-ever international IT-enabled Services (ITES) roadshow in the United States. This event will highlight Nepal’s growing outsourcing and ITES capabilities on a global stage.
The initiative, organised by the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal), is the result of visionary leadership by Ajit Shah, Chairman of CNI IT Council and Founding Chairman of AmCham Nepal. The event will showcase Nepal’s booming outsourcing and ITES industry on an international platform. Shah’s dedication has been instrumental in driving the advancement and international recognition of Nepal’s IT sector.
The roadshow is scheduled to take place from March 24 to 27, 2025, at the Shared Services & Outsourcing Week (SSOW) Conference in Orlando, Florida. This milestone event aims to position Nepal as a major player in the global technology map while attracting international investors, clients, and partners to its burgeoning digital economy.
Nepal has witnessed a significant surge in IT services exports in recent years, with the sector emerging as the country’s leading export contributor. In 2022 alone, IT service exports reached $515.4 million—64.2% rise from the previous year. This industry now constitutes 1.4% of Nepal’s GDP and accounts for 5.5% of the nation’s foreign exchange reserves.
The ITES roadshow comes amidst remarkable growth in the sector, with exports continuing to rise. In the first four months of the current fiscal year, Nepal’s IT service exports generated Rs 6.69 billion, reflecting a 20.28% year-on-year increase. This progress underscores the country’s growing stature as a regional tech hub.
Tech Peak Nepal: Orlando 2025 represents an opportunity to capitalise on this momentum. It is expected to forge critical partnerships that will accelerate Nepal’s digital transformation and further position the nation as a global outsourcing destination.
Recognising the industry’s potential, the Government of Nepal has designated the period from 2024 to 2034 as the ‘IT Decade’. The initiative aims to create 1.5 million jobs and achieve IT service exports worth Rs 3 trillion within the next decade.
The United States, the world’s largest IT market, presents vast opportunities for outsourcing and investment in the digital economy. Orlando, a hub for prominent global IT and outsourcing events, provides the ideal platform for Nepal’s IT sector to shine. The SSOW Conference, which attracts over 1,000 industry leaders worldwide, will allow Nepali IT firms to connect directly with potential clients, venture capitalists, and decision-makers seeking cost-effective and innovative IT solutions.
A highlight of the roadshow will be the 'Nepal Pavilion,' a dedicated space showcasing the nation’s outsourcing prospects, technology leaders, and success stories. The pavilion will host live demonstrations, interactive booths, and presentations by leading Nepali IT firms. It will also serve as a networking hub for fostering long-term collaborations with international stakeholders.
Nepali firms will share the stage with global technology giants like IBM, Infosys, and PwC, underscoring Nepal’s competitive edge in the outsourcing industry. This platform validates the nation’s potential and provides Nepali companies with an invaluable opportunity to engage with global industry leaders.
The roadshow coincides with a pivotal time for Nepal’s IT sector. Recent policy changes introduced by the Government of Nepal now allow domestic IT companies to establish branch offices abroad, invest internationally, and legally repatriate earnings. These reforms position Nepali firms to operate globally and compete effectively in international markets.
The global outsourcing services market, valued at $854.637 billion in 2025, is projected to grow to $1.11 trillion by 2030. While countries like India and the Philippines have dominated this market, Nepal is emerging as a strong contender. Its talented workforce, competitive pricing, and focus on innovation make it an attractive outsourcing destination.
Tech Peak Nepal: Orlando 2025 will serve as a launchpad for Nepali IT firms, creating avenues for international funding, strategic partnerships, and global market expansion. With just one month remaining until the event, excitement is building as Nepal prepares to make its mark on the world stage.
