2nd Digital Karnali Conclave to be held in Surkhet on Apr 18-19

KATHMANDU: The second edition of Digital Karnali Conclave will be held in Surkhet, the capital of Karnali Province, on April 18 and 19.

The event will be jointly organised by the Karnali Province Government and ICT Foundation Nepal as part of the Digital Nepal Conclave 2025. An agreement formalising the collaboration was signed on Wednesday by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Karnali Province, and ICT Foundation Nepal.

The two-day conclave, taking place at Siddhartha Sunny Resort in Birendranagar, will explore the current state, opportunities, potential, and challenges of Digital Karnali.

Centred on the theme ‘Empowering the Future: Innovation, Connectivity, and Sustainability,’ the programme will feature over four keynote speeches and more than eight sessions. 

More than 50 national and international experts will participate as speakers. Attendees will include representatives from local governments within Karnali Province, provincial assembly members, government officials, and private sector stakeholders. The Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Pushparaj Shahi, expressed confidence that the conclave would play a key role in promoting digital transformation in the region.

ICT Foundation Nepal, which has been actively leading digital transformation initiatives, has prioritised Karnali Province for this special edition of the conclave. According to ICT Foundation Nepal’s President, Razan Lamsal, the second edition aims to enhance digital literacy, highlight untapped opportunities within the province, and leverage technology to improve living standards.

Presentations and panel discussions during the conclave will cover topics such as digital infrastructure, leadership, policies, workforce, education, agriculture, tourism, digital health, innovation, entrepreneurship, and e-governance.

Additionally, the event will showcase tailored solutions and ideas for Karnali. Interested individuals and organisations are encouraged to submit details about their digital solutions or proposals through the official conclave website.
