KATHMANDU: Ncell organised a friendly football match on Monday at Lainchaur Ground in Kathmandu to celebrate the much-anticipated Ncell Nepal Super League (NSL), which is set to kick off on Saturday, March 29.
The friendly match featured three teams, with the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) team emerging victorious.
The seven-a-side football match began with a game between the Ncell team and a team of artists and models, led by former national footballer and veteran player Anil Gurung. The Ncell team secured a 2–1 victory over Anil Gurung’s team.
The final match of the friendly tournament, held in anticipation of the Ncell NSL, was played between the NSJF team and the Ncell team, with the NSJF team defeating Ncell 2–0.

Ncell is the title sponsor of NSL Season 3 and takes pride in its association with Nepal’s largest franchise football tournament, scheduled to run from March 29 to April 26, 2025. This season, seven teams—Lalitpur City FC, Kathmandu Rangers FC, Pokhara Thunders FC, Butwal Lumbini FC, Dhangadhi FC, Jhapa FC, and Chitwan FC—will compete for the championship title.
