NEA's newly-appointed Executive Director Shakya takes oath of office

KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Hitendra Dev Shakya, took the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday.  

The Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dipak Khadka, administered the oath at the ministry, according to Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS). 

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday appointed Shakya to the position for a tenure of four years. He was appointed as per Clause 27(1) of Nepal Electricity Authority Act, 2041 BS.  

On the occasion, Minister Khadka instructed the relevant authorities to expedite the recovery of dues owed to the NEA by industrialists and to address the issue of power outages.  

In his remarks, Shakya pledged to lead the NEA to greater heights with determination and commitment.
