
KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries Young Entrepreneurs Forum (CNIYEF) has inaugurated its Lumbini Province Chapter.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, launched the CNIYEF's provincial chapter during a special ceremony held in Bhairahawa on Wednesday. He praised the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) for its significant role in enhancing production and productivity, expressing the government’s hope for even greater contributions. He urged young entrepreneurs to embrace competition and assured government support. "We are the ones who will build this country, and we will build it," Finance Minister Paudel remarked.
On the occasion, CNI President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal highlighted the need for policies to inspire youth entrepreneurship, urging the government to include youth-focused programmes in the upcoming budget. "Young people who studied abroad must be encouraged to become entrepreneurs here," Agrawal opined.
Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS), Krishna Bahadur Raut, commended CNI and CNIYEF’s contributions to startup policies and law amendments. He reiterated the government's support for youth-centred initiatives like remote company registration and tech promotion.
CNI Lumbini Province President Ejaz Alam expressed concerns over rising youth migration and the challenges faced by industries.
CNIYEF President Ashish Agrawal underlined Lumbini Province’s potential to contribute significantly to the nation’s economic development. "With the right policies, there are many opportunities in Nepal for young people to thrive," he said.
Likewise, CNIYEF Lumbini Chapter President Rajan Kasaju vowed to advance with a global perspective while preserving local authenticity.
The CNIYEF Lumbini Chapter’s Board includes Kasaju, Bikas Pandey, Abhishek Pathak, Arjun Pathak, Ronish Shrestha, Suraj Upreti, Vivek Kasaudhan, and Abhinabh Thapa.
Established in 2005, CNIYEF promotes youth entrepreneurship through various initiatives.
