KATHMANDU: Laxmi Intercontinental, the authorised distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Nepal, launched the CRETA EV and CRETA ICE (Made in Nepal) in Kathmandu on Monday.
Under the theme 'Choose Your Future,' the launch introduced both electric and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) models, offering customers the flexibility to choose their preferred mobility solution. The CRETA EV is priced from Rs 5,196,000, while the locally manufactured CRETA ICE starts at Rs 5,396,000—up to Rs 900,000 less than the imported 2025 ICE models. The event was graced by Tae-Young Park, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal.
Since its debut in 2015, the Hyundai Creta has established itself as a popular choice in Nepal's mid-size SUV segment, trusted by over 10,000 customers across all age groups. Branded as the Ultimate SUV, it is widely recognised for its bold and striking design, commanding admiration on the road. The made-in-Nepal CRETA ICE builds on Hyundai’s legacy of delivering premium SUVs, customised to suit the needs of Nepali consumers.
Hyundai Nepal is also focused on ecosystem development, including the expansion of its charging network under the 'Re-Lax' identity, along with repair shops to enhance user convenience. Additionally, the company has partnered with Attero India to recycle batteries and manage residual value, ensuring sustainability while passing on benefits to customers.
Key Features of the CRETA EV
The CRETA EV offers exceptional versatility and safety features. It comes with a ground clearance of 200mm and a breakover angle exceeding 17 degrees—the highest in its class—making it suitable for mild off-road adventures. Its 11kW AC charging system, unique in its segment, allows even a household wall-mounted charger to fully charge the vehicle in just 4 hours. Unlike many rivals that only provide repair kits, the CRETA EV includes a spare tyre for added convenience. Advanced safety technologies such as ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), six airbags, and a 360-degree camera ensure maximum protection and convenience.
Hyundai Nepal offers an 8-year warranty on the CRETA EV’s battery and a 3-year warranty on the CRETA ICE, demonstrating its commitment to long-term reliability and customer confidence.
