BANEPA: Six haemodialysis machines have been handed over to Sahid Smriti Community Hospital Chaupatta in Nawalparasi West, also known as Parasi district. The machines were presented to Bardaghat Municipality Mayor Shambhu Lal Shrestha by Member of the House of Representatives, Binod Chaudhary, during a Haemodialysis Equipment Handover Ceremony held in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok district.

The equipment was provided by Dr Jobst Isbary of the German Rotary Volunteer Doctors (GRVD), in coordination with the Rotary Club of Dhulikhel.

At the programme, lawmaker Chaudhary stated that patients from Nawalparasi West and nearby areas would benefit from the availability of dialysis services. He remarked, "Six haemodialysis machines have been handed over to Chaupatta Hospital, Bardaghat, through the collaboration of GRVD and the Rotary Club of Dhulikhel. This will significantly contribute to the treatment of kidney patients in Parasi."

Dhulikhel Municipality Mayor Ashok Kumar Byanju Shrestha expressed confidence that the availability of essential medical equipment in community hospitals outside major cities would benefit residents.

The Rotary Club of Dhulikhel had previously donated wheelchairs to Parasi and assisted in running an eye clinic in the Reiyukai building in Bardaghat. Bardaghat Municipality Mayor Shrestha, Chaupatta Hospital Chairperson DB Rana, and other officials attended the equipment handover programme.

Chaudhary had been advocating for dialysis machines and trained manpower for the hospital. Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, facilitated the provision of the machines and committed to assisting in training the required personnel for operating them.

Nawalparasi West Becoming a Health Hub

HoR member Chaudhary has been developing his electoral constituency as a health service hub. A trauma centre, the first outside Kathmandu Valley, is under construction in Bardaghat following his initiative. Chisapani Hospital is now operational with specialist services, supported by upgrades and expansions by the Chaudhary Foundation.

Construction of a 15-bed hospital in Sarawal is underway, with resources secured through Chaudhary's efforts. The CG Sabal Kendra, a centre providing free prosthetic limbs, and a birthing centre in Susta are also functioning due to his initiatives.
