Prime Minister extends Eid greetings to Muslim community

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended his best wishes on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, a holy festival of the Muslim community. The Prime Minister shared his greetings through social media today.

"Eid al-Fitr, an important and holy festival celebrated by Muslims, has concluded today with the end of a month-long fast," read the message. Muslims are celebrating Eid al-Fitr today to mark the completion of the fasting month.

Prime Minister Oli mentioned that the tradition of fostering relationships among communities has made the festival more meaningful.

The government has declared Monday a public holiday for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. Joint-Secretary and spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ramchandra Tiwari, said the holiday was announced as per the notice published in the Nepal Gazette on February 11, 2024.

Eid al-Fitr, a significant festival for Muslims, has traditionally been celebrated across the country with much enthusiasm.
