
BANGKOK: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the Prime Minister of Thailand, Paetongtran Shinawatra, are scheduled to hold a meeting today.
Prime Minister Oli is on an official visit to Thailand at the cordial invitation of his Thai counterpart.
Before the meeting, Prime Minister Oli attended a welcome programme hosted by his Thai counterpart. This marks the first official visit of a Nepali Prime Minister to Thailand.
The visit is expected to contribute to the expansion of mutual relations and collaboration between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an agreement on cooperation in the culture and tourism sectors will be signed after the meeting between the two prime ministers.
In addition, six memoranda of understanding will be exchanged between non-governmental and business organisations from the two nations. After the agreements are signed, the two prime ministers are expected to hold a joint press conference.
Later today, Prime Minister Oli will also attend a luncheon hosted by his counterpart and hold a courtesy meeting with the King of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn. Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to return to Nepal on April 5.
