KATHMANDU: The inaugural day of Startup Mahakumbh at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, India, saw the opening of the Nepal Pavilion on Thursday.

The event was inaugurated by Dr Shankar Prasad Sharma, Ambassador of Nepal to India, and Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India.

The inauguration marked a key step in fostering innovation and strengthening entrepreneurial ties between the neighbouring nations.

The Nepali delegation was led by Deepak Rauniar, Senior Advisor and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ryan Electric, who represented Nepal’s emerging startup ecosystem on an international platform.

The Nepal Pavilion showcased 19 Nepali startups spanning multiple sectors, including space technology, artificial intelligence, climate technology, IT, educational technology, and agro-processing. This three-day event underscored Nepal’s innovative capacity and its role in global entrepreneurship.

In line with this, the Startup Network Nepal continues its efforts to connect Nepali entrepreneurs with international opportunities.
