6th BIMSTEC Summit kicks off in Bangkok; leaders to discuss regional cooperation

BANGKOK: The 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) commenced in Bangkok today.

The heads of government from BIMSTEC member states participated in a formal photo session before proceeding with discussions on the agenda.

Thailand’s Prime Minister and host of the event, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, officially welcomed the delegations.

Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, along with other representatives, is set to address the Summit today.

Following a ceremony marking the signing of the 'BIMSTEC Maritime Transport Cooperation', the heads of delegation from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Sri Lanka will deliver their respective addresses at the event.
