
BANGKOK: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he had a positive and fruitful discussion with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi today.
"I and Indian Prime Minister Modi-ji have had a good and positive dialogue. So much for now," Prime Minister Oli stated while leaving the meeting room.
The two leaders held a one-on-one meeting that lasted around 45 minutes at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting followed the conclusion of the Sixth Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, stated that India accords top priority to its relations with Nepal. He described the meeting with Prime Minister Oli as fruitful. "We discussed about various aspects of Nepal-India ties, especially with a focus on energy, connectivity, culture and digital technology," Prime Minister Modi posted on X. "We also exchanged views on some key positive outcomes from this year's BIMSTEC Summit, especially in the areas of disaster management and maritime transport."
The two prime ministers had previously met on September 23, 2024, in New York on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
