
KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Deputy Governor Neelam Dhungana Timsina has been assigned as Acting Governor.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) assigned Dhungana to the role after the recommendation committee, formed to appoint the Governor, delayed naming a candidate.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel designated Dhungana as Acting Governor under Section 27 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 (2002), according to the minister's secretariat.
The government has set up a recommendation committee to select the new Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. The committee, led by Finance Minister Paudel, includes former Governor Bijaya Nath Bhattarai and economist Biswo Nath Poudel as members.
