KATHMANDU: Lemon Tree Premier, Budhanilkantha, a premium five-star property located in the foothills of Shivapuri National Park, organised a large-scale awareness event titled 'Walk for Health' on Monday to commemorate World Health Day.

The event aimed to encourage healthier lifestyles and raise awareness of public health and environmental challenges in Kathmandu.

The walk, held under the theme 'Global Action for Universal Health', began at 6:30 am from Narayanchaur, Naxal, with over 200 participants, including hotel associates, social influencers, media representatives, and members of the local community. It passed through key city landmarks before concluding at Lemon Tree Premier in Budhanilkantha.

The event highlighted the need for public health awareness and environmental action, particularly due to Kathmandu’s worsening air pollution. Participants advocated for sustainable lifestyle choices and cleaner urban planning by walking as a mode of transport.

“With Kathmandu facing growing air quality concerns, this walk served as both a wellness initiative and a collective voice for environmental responsibility,” said Manoj Kumar Thapa, General Manager of Lemon Tree Premier. “We are proud to unite our team and community under a shared vision of health, sustainability, and social impact.”

HAMS Hospital ensured participant safety and readiness for emergencies during the walk.

The event concluded with a healthy breakfast at Lemon Tree Premier, emphasising the connection between individual wellness and environmental health.
