DHADING: Paramendo Nepal, in partnership with the University of Cambridge and Impact Hub Kathmandu, has established a Community Recycling Centre (CRC) in Ree Village, Dhading, to address plastic waste and the shortage of building materials in mountainous regions.
The initiative is part of the Plastic-to-Ghar (P2G) project, which aims to build a circular economy by converting plastic waste into durable construction materials. The CRC is equipped with plastic heat press machines, shredders, routers, and table saws, allowing it to process approximately 1.5 tonnes of waste plastic per day and transform it into sustainable building materials for houses and other essential structures.

To ensure sustainability, Paramendo Nepal has provided comprehensive safety and operational training to local villagers, equipping them with the skills needed to manage and operate the centre independently. The initiative addresses environmental pollution while offering innovative solutions to rural housing issues in Nepal.
Through the P2G project, Paramendo Nepal and its partners are promoting a self-sustaining model that strengthens local communities, encourages environmental responsibility, and supports resilient housing solutions.
