KATHMANDU: Organic products from various regions of the country, including Karnali Province, are now available in Kathmandu.
An 'Organic Market' has been launched in Kapan, Budhanilkantha Municipality, to promote and encourage the use of organic agricultural produce. The market offers Marsi rice from Jumla, beans from Humla, millet from Mugu, herbs from Dolpa, and other food and consumable items. It is designed to deliver organic products sourced from all 753 municipalities across the nation directly to consumers.
The initiative aims to inspire farmers in Karnali Province to engage in farming. According to the market's owner, Suman Dahal, the concept is based on branding agricultural produce under the theme 'one local level, one product.'
Dahal said, "The market not only promotes the products of Karnali but also agricultural goods, herbal cosmetics, spices, ginger, garlic paste, handicraft items, and uniquely identified products from all seven provinces of the country."
This initiative aims to make a significant contribution to agriculture and rural development across the country in the long term.
