KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal has called on Nepalis working abroad to invest in Nepal, emphasising the country's potential for growth and development.
Addressing the first convention held to establish a multi-purpose revolving fund under Baglung Sewa Samaj, in Doha, Qatar, on Friday, Dhakal spoke against the false narrative that "there is nothing in Nepal" and "nothing has happened in Nepal."
“People have been creating a false and negative narrative, which is indeed a wrong tendency. However, there is significant potential for investment in Nepal. If we work as hard in Nepal as we do abroad, we can achieve great success,” he said, criticising the illogical comparisons made between Nepal and advancements abroad.
The FNCCI President also highlighted the Nepal Development Company, established with Rs 10 billion in capital, which offers investment opportunities to Nepalis abroad. He urged migrant workers to invest through the company, which focuses on hydropower, tourism, industry, and other promising sectors by consolidating scattered capital from Nepalis both inside and outside the country.
He expressed gratitude to the Baglung community residing in Qatar for creating the revolving fund to support socially responsible activities and announced a personal contribution of Rs 1.5 million to the fund.
Dhakal was honoured at the event.
