SOMTU introduces Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Business Management
KATHMANDU: School of Management at Tribhuvan University (SOMTU) has launched Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Business Management (PGDSBM) programme. The course has been developed with the support of UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM), Spain. The collaboration between UPF-BSM and SOMTU has been supported by Invest for Impact Nepal (IIN). The multifaceted programme covers environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues for sustainable development.
Designed for senior and mid-career professionals, the PGDSBM programme combines academic rigour with practical applications, offering insights into innovations in sustainable business and development. Over the course of one year, participants will acquire the expertise needed to drive the transition towards a sustainable economy. Graduates will be prepared to make significant contributions to businesses, the economy, and society, both nationally and internationally.
The curriculum consists of 10 modules, covering 30 credit hours of intensive study. Key components include a capstone project, seminar, practicum, and elective courses centred on business sustainability and sustainable development. The programme provides a balance between theoretical foundations and practical applications, equipping students with a deep understanding of sustainability challenges and opportunities.
Eligibility criteria require applicants to hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least two years of work experience. Admission is determined through an entrance examination structured in accordance with the GMAT format.
The application process is designed to be straightforward, ensuring a seamless admission experience. Interested candidates must submit their applications online by May 4, 2025 (Baishakh 21, 2082) via the programme's official website, www.somatmba.com. The SOMAT exam, scheduled for May 5, 2025 (Baishakh 22, 2082), will assess applicants’ aptitude for the programme. Successful candidates will begin their academic journey on May 15, 2025 (Jestha 1, 2082), embarking on an intensive year of study in sustainable business management.
