
KATHMANDU: Visiting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday.
During the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, various aspects of mutual friendship between the two countries, as well as trade and investment, were discussed.
Commending the rapid progress achieved by the UAE in the development sector, Prime Minister Oli urged Deputy Prime Minister Nahyan to invest in various sectors in Nepal, including hydropower and green energy.
In response, Deputy Prime Minister Nahyan stated that he would encourage UAE entrepreneurs to expand investments in various sectors in Nepal, including tourism, energy, and agriculture.
Nahyan, who arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday for a two-day visit, also expressed the UAE's readiness to sign a free trade agreement with Nepal.
