
KATHMANDU: The subcommittee formed by Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the House of Representatives (HoR) to investigate alleged irregularities during the construction of Pokhara International Airport has submitted its report to the PAC.
Subcommittee coordinator Rajendra Prasad Lingden handed over the report to PAC coordinator Hrishikesh Pokharel during a handover ceremony held at the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor this afternoon, according to committee secretary and spokesperson, joint secretary of the Parliament Secretariat, Eakram Giri.
Upon receiving the report, committee chair Pokharel stated that the full report would be discussed in the committee's upcoming meeting.
The PAC had formed the subcommittee about a year ago under the leadership of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chairman and MP Lingden to investigate alleged irregularities at the airport, which is the country’s third international airport.
The subcommittee has submitted a 38-page report, which includes its findings and recommendations for actions to be taken, according to subcommittee coordinator Lingden.
The subcommittee included MPs Janardan Sharma, Gokul Prasad Baskota, Aman Lal Modi, Arjun Narsingh KC, Prem Bahadur Ale, Ram Krishna Yadav, Tara Lama, Dev Prasad Timilsena, Deepak Giri, and Rukmani Rana.
