SCT partners with Mercure Kathmandu to offer up to 15 pc discount for SCT-UPI card users

KATHMANDU: Smart Choice Technologies (SCT), a payment system operator licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), has partnered with the five-star hotel Mercure Kathmandu Sukedhara Heights to offer discounts of up to 15% for SCT-UPI card customers.

The hotel, located in Sukedhara Heights, Kathmandu, has been catering to domestic and international guests since January 15. Under this agreement, SCT-UPI card users must make payments using their SCT-UPI card at Mercure Kathmandu Sukedhara Heights to avail discounts.

Customers will receive 10% discount on food and beverage bills and 15% discount on room charges when paying through SCT-UPI cards. The discount on room charges is applicable exclusively to Point of Sale (POS) terminal transactions.

SCT currently issues SCT-UPI cards through 21 banks and financial institutions (BFIs) and over 100 cooperative organisations. The scheme aims to encourage the use of SCT-UPI cards and promote cashless transactions. Customers who do not yet possess an SCT-UPI card can participate in this offer by visiting their nearest BFIs to apply for and obtain the card.
