KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs 5 per litre with effect from 12 midnight.
With the latest price hike, the price of petrol has reached Rs 160 per litre while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 143 per litre. Likewise, the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has reached Rs 1,600 per cylinder with an increase of Rs 25 per cylinder.
Even with the new price hike, the NOC has still been incurring a huge loss.
As per the fuel price list sent by the Indian Oil Corporation, the NOC has to pay Rs 182.81 per litre for petrol, Rs 169.44 per litre for diesel, Rs 113.49 per litre for kerosene, Rs 131.94 for avian turbine fuel (domestic), Rs 114.51 for avian turbine fuel (international), Rs 2,240.34 for per filled LPG cylinder to IOC for the import and the figures include the import tax.
