81.3% of target population fully vaccinated against Covid 19 in Nepal

KATHMANDU: The government has fully vaccinated 81.3% of the target population against Covid 19 as of Saturday, March 19. At least 92.9% of the target population have been vaccinated against the contagion with the first dose. The number of people who were fully vaccinated as of Saturday was 16,187,726 and others who were given the first dose was 18,499,739. Likewise, 67% of the vaccine target population between 12 to 17 years, have been fully vaccinated while 91% have received at least first dose, the data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Saturday showed. In this age group, 2,311,998 people have been fully vaccinated while 3,118,785 others have received the first dose of vaccines. [gallery columns="1" link="file" size="full" ids="20996"] According to the MoHP, a total of 39,232,725 vaccines have been provided to all age groups till March 19. As many as 18,695,826 doses of vaccines were provided as the first dose, 18,703,726 as second dose and 1,835,693 as booster dose. The government has been providing VeroCell, Covishield, Japanese-made AstraZeneca, Swedish astraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. The government has received a total of 47,882,800 doses of the anti-Covid vaccine including grant assistance and procurement. There were 3,595 active cases of Covid 19 in Nepal as of Saturday, March 19. Likewise, a total of 978,127 people tested positive for Covid 19 in Nepal since the outbreak of coronavirus in the country. At least 11,950 people died from Covid 19 infection. The government has set a target to vaccinate all above 18 years by mid-April 2021. READ ALSO:
