Golchha Group provides financial support to Team Shireto for building EV

KATHMANDU: Golchha Group has provided financial support to Team Shireto, a group of students of Thapathali Campus, for building an electric vehicle (EV). The team built an EV and participated in Shell Eco-marathon, a global academic programme focused on energy optimisation and one of the world's leading student engineering competitions, in October 2020. The team started with preliminary activities like building a team according to required skills, finding sponsors, finalising the workspace among other things, and by February 2022, the team successfully completed the vehicle design and development. Following the multiple test drives of the vehicle ‘Maicha’, it is now fully functional and ready to ace the competition. The vehicle was built following all the rules and designed as per the directions and specifications mentioned in the rulebook provided by the competition. [gallery columns="1" size="full" link="file" ids="20826"] Maicha is capable of achieving a 150+km range from 1 kWh charge of the battery. The design is inspired by the Newari traditional attire Haku Patasi. Team Shireto aims to contribute to a sustainable future by conducting various research and tasks on EV in Nepal. Their major motive lies in promoting the sustainable mobility sector of Nepal. Also, they are the first EV team from Nepal to compete in Shell Eco-Marathon. READ ALSO:
