Jazeera Airways to operate regular flights at GBIA from May 16

KATHMANDU: Kuwait's airline company Jazeera Airways is set to launch its first commercial flight at Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) constructed under the national pride project of Nepal. Jazeera Airways has submitted an application to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) seeking permission to operate regular flights from May 16 coinciding with Buddha Jayanti. According to Deo Chandra Lal Karn, Deputy Director General at CAAN, Jazeera Airways has submitted an application requesting to operate regular daily flights. The Kuwaiti airlines company which has currently been operating regular flights to Kathmandu has a plan to operate direct flights in the route of Kuwait-Bhairahawa-Kuwait. Meanwhile, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will conduct a test flight at GBIA from April 14, the beginning of New year 2079. The calibration flight conducted at GBIA was successful. Deputy Director General Karn informed that commercial international flights will be opened from April 20 following the test flight by NAC. He also said that all necessary preparations have been completed for the commercial flights at GBIA. READ ALSO:
